More about the story of the album can be seen in a previous post. The album has been months in the making and has been a real labour of love. The cassette, which Tinner owned, had been recorded straight from the mixing desk and mastered by Decontrolled Records with Paul Decontrol restoring the previously unseen grainy pictures (courtesy of Goldie). Cathy Smith (Steve's wife) Paul and Tinner then designed the artwork and put it all together. The insert also includes recollections from various folk who were there on the night as well as the unseen photographs.
Red Alert were one of the most influential bands to come out of Sunderland and their legacy will always be remembered. They Came in Force  is dedicated  to Steve 'Cast Iron' Smith and Red ALERT
